国际SCI刊物《亚洲地质》正式在线出版《西藏新特提斯的演化:地层和古地理》专辑

(化石网报道)据中国科学院南京地质古生物研究所:最近Elsevier出版社旗下国际SCI刊物《亚洲地质》(Journal of Asian Earth Sciences)正式在线出版了《西藏新特提斯的演化:地层和古地理》(Evolution of the Tibetan Neo-Tethys: Stratigraphy and Palaeogeography)的研究专辑。 

该专辑由中国科学院南京地质古生物研究所李建国研究员、沙金庚研究员、罗辉研究员担任联合主编,共收录了1篇前言综述和12篇研究论文。作者队伍主要由南京古生物所研究人员组成。论文集从古生物学、火山岩和地球化学等学科方向,研究了晚古生代末到新生代早期青藏高原地区的地层古生物及其背后的新特提斯构造和古环境演化,探讨了新特提斯演化的许多关键科学问题,如新特提斯洋的开启和形成时间、印度板块的漂移历史、区域古气候、古海拔以及高原隆升对生物区系的影响等。另外,专辑还特别重视对这一地质过程重建十分关键的地层学研究,在区域海相和陆相生物地层学方面都取得了重大进展。这些成果无疑将会为后人研究特提斯演化提供重要的参考和帮助。 

青藏高原是研究深时地球岩石圈、水圈和生物圈相互作用的理想场所,在地球动力学、板块构造、古地理、古气候和生物演化等研究中备受关注。然而,由于恶劣的自然地理条件、强烈的构造和变质作用,青藏高原地区古生物化石的保存和采集都具有较大的难度,也进而制约了地层和古生物相关研究的开展。目前关于新特提斯演化过程中的生物多样性历史及演化机制等研究还不够深入,甚至还存在不少记录的缺失和不足。 

几十年来,南京古生物所研究人员在中国科学院和国家有关项目支持下,一直坚持不懈地从事青藏高原地层学和古生物学研究。特别是在近几年中国科学院战略科技专项(B)和青藏高原第二次科学考察与研究等项目的支持下,新的化石发现和研究取得不少进展。 

本专辑即是这些成果的一个代表性展示,它们填补了一些古生物多样性和演化认识上的空白,主要包括:1.发现了一些前人没有发现或很少研究的化石,如昆虫(Cai等,2019;Wang等,2019);2.新建立了一些在地层划分对比中有重要作用的微体化石序列,如放射虫和孢粉(Li等,2019;Peng等,2019;Xu等,2019);3.对一些研究相对较成熟的门类补充了新材料,如菊石、双壳和大有孔虫(Jiang等,2019;Rao等,2019;Yang等,2019 ;Zhang等,2019;Li等,2020);4.在研究比较薄弱的陆地生物多样性和生态系统方面获得了许多新的材料和认识,如孢粉(Li等,2019;Peng等,2019)、昆虫和大植物(Jiang等,2019;Yang等,2019)。同时,专辑建立了一个新的、可与国际标准对比的西藏南部新特提斯域三叠系–古近系多门类综合生物地层框架(Li等,2020)和西藏中北部中侏罗世–古近纪陆相孢粉地层序列。专辑还探讨了生物和新特提斯的协同演化,是青藏高原新特提斯生物多样性和生态系统研究新进展的一次集中展示。 

该专辑为一电子专辑,是不同学科科学家多年联合协作、共同努力的成果。相关研究得到了青藏高原第二次科学考察,中国科学院战略中国科学院战略先导专项和国家自然科学基金的资助。
